SPRAY DRYING PLANT

NEUTRALIZATION and SLURRY PREPARATION (AT-63)

The neutralisation of sulphonic acid is made continuously by means of a metering pump which feeds the right quantities of sulphonic acid (and/or fatty acid) and sodium hydroxide solution.

All liquid, solid raw and recovered materials are collected and rapidly stirred in the slurry preparer which is designed for breaking any possible agglomerate and for obtaining an homogenised slurry.

Gas and possibly dragged powders developed in slurry preparer are cleaned by process water. That water is then recycled to slurry preparer itself.

The solid raw materials from the day vessels and the "paste" from the neutralisation unit are automatically dosed into the slurry preparator. These components are blended and mixed to form a homogeneous thick liquid called "slurry".
The slurry is then discharged into an aging vessel and filtered.

The slurry preparation is carried out either continuously or batch-wise controlled by a PLC/Computer system.
