THE HISTORY OF OUR COMPANY
|
|
|
The origin of
our company dates back to 1870, the years when, with the development
of the cotton textile industry, the area of Busto Arsizio started
to become one of the most industrialised of Italy.
At
that time, when the peasants left the poor local agriculture
to enter the factories and became workers, also the blacksmith
Luigi Grampa transformed his forge into a mechanical workshop
for the repair of steam engines and textile machinery.

This
was the activity of the factory until the beginning of the new
century when a daughter of Luigi Grampa married Rodolfo Pisoni,
owner of a small factory producing soap, soda and perfumes.
This marriage was the origin of the development that transformed
the "Luigi Grampa & Figli" workshop into the first
Italian company manufacturing machines and equipment for the
soap industry.
The
factory, helped by the chance of combining the direct experience
of soap production and mechanical knowledge, soon manufactured
high quality machines that could be spread easily in Italy and
abroad.

After the second
World War, synthetic detergents began entering the market, and
Rino Pisoni, the son of Rodolfo Pisoni and Maria Grampa, decided
to extend his activity into this new field.
He also changed the name of the company into "MECCANICHE
MODERNE" (modern mechanical works) to recall that the company
had to be kept always at the most up to date technological level.
Since then, for the latest fifty years, "MECCANICHE MODERNE"
has continuously improved and spread into the world new equipment
and machinery for soaps and synthetic detergents.
"MECCANICHE
MODERNE" today is still owned by the offspring of its founder
and is managed by Carlo Pisoni, the son of Rino Pisoni.
It is the fourth generation of the family continuously involved
in the same business.
